What the school offers its staff
In 2022, 73% of students gained grade 4+ in GCSE Mathematics and 20% grade 7+. These were the second highest percentages the school has ever had. Over the last 5 years the school has improved significantly. There is a resolute ambition for all students to achieve their best (Ofsted 2018), brought about by new approaches to improve teaching, learning and assessment in both key stages. This has rapidly raised standards for pupils across the school.
John Hanson is a successful 11-16 community school, rated as Good by OFSTED. Our students are friendly and confident, and we strive to ensure that they achieve the success they deserve.
A school where ‘Pupils work hard and find the work really challenging’. A school where ‘there are strong systems in place that support pupils in reaching the highest grades’ - Ofsted 2018.
If you are an ECT, we have a successful ECT induction programme providing full support.
We welcome applications from candidates from all qualification routes and backgrounds; most important of all will be the ability to excite our students through their learning, and the desire to be an integral part of a successful school. At John Hanson ‘Inspire Care Succeed’ is not just for the students, but staff too. Care is at the centre of everything we do and we are proud of the well-being work that listens to and acts upon staff feedback.
We also welcome informal conversations with the Headteacher, and encourage you to come and visit our school. In all circumstances, please contact Karen Page (Business Manager) for further details and an application form, 01264 352546 or email adminoffice@jhanson.hants.sch.uk
