What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and able teacher to join our Maths team here at Queen Elizabeth’s High School from 1 September 2023.

The role would ideally suit an individual who, along with the appropriate qualifications, is extremely motivated and enthusiastic. The ability to teach up to and including A Level Maths would be an advantage. Options surrounding part time or full time may be discussed at interview. Please indicate your preference on your application.

As we are such a large, friendly, supportive and forward-looking faculty there is always someone with whom you can discuss issues and develop new ideas. The majority of the teaching occurs in a specialised set of classrooms, all of which are equipped with interactive whiteboards. The department is well resourced with text books, software and other equipment.

What the school offers its staff

The QEHS Mathematics Faculty is a high performing faculty, not only achieving an excellent 4+ and 5+ pass rate at GCSE but also guiding a significant proportion of students to top grades at both GCSE and A Level.

The Mathematics Faculty is led by a Faculty Head and two Assistant Heads of Department who support the day-to-day running of the department as well as co-ordinating additional activities. The rest of the team is made up of four dedicated Maths teachers plus the Deputy Headteacher (Students and Welfare) of the school. Furthermore, we are lucky enough to have a dual trained Physics and Maths teacher who also contributes to the department. We have also recently appointed a Maths Learning and Progress Assistant.

The Faculty work together as a team and are incredibly supportive of one another. There is a wealth of experience across the Faculty with staff teaching across all key stages and abilities wherever possible to ensure that all staff are knowledgeable about the QEHS mathematics learning journey from start to finish.

Commitment to safeguarding

Queen Elizabeth’s High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
