Teacher of Mathematics with Numeracy Coordinator TLR job summary

As the Teacher of Mathematics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of our students who attend our academy.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Teach engaging lessons that inspire and help students to learn in a supportive environment
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work
  • Teach a full range of KS3, KS4 and KS5 classes according to their educational needs
  • Ensure all students are making at least expected progress in line with forecasted grades
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of students
  • Consistently work to this systems and processes that are in place to safeguard students
  • Ensure adherence to the Teacher Standards and the Academy's Standards

Your TLR responsibility will include:

  • Support the Head of Mathematics in raising achievement by developing a Numeracy strategy for the academy.

  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate numeracy skills across the curriculum. Auditing, and devising a cross-curricular approach to enhance students' mathematical proficiency

  • Lead on training to embed best practices for numeracy instruction.

  • Identify and implement strategies to support all students to improve their everyday Numeracy skills as well as helping those students who require additional assistance in numeracy.

  • Organise and oversee numeracy-related events, competitions, and activities to promote a positive attitude towards mathematics.

  • Liaise with parents/carers to establish a positive working relationship and enhance home-based support for pupils.
