What skills and experience we're looking for
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Maths to join our fantastic team at Chorlton High School.
This is a permanent, full-time teaching post, to start in September 2025. The role is offered on the Teachers Main-Upper Pay Scale.
We’re looking for:
You will need to be qualified to Teach and work in the UK with successful experience in the 11-16 phase. You will need to have thorough Maths subject knowledge and an understanding of current curriculum developments, you will also be a good communicator with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
You will have the ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning. You will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils, as well as being passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.
Main purpose of the job:
The post holder's key responsibilities will be improving the standards of learning and raising levels of student achievement for all students in their care. You will be responsible for improving the standards of learning and raising levels of student achievement for all students and expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To ensure that students experience an educational programme that is personalised to their needs, developing their skills and abilities
- To actively promote relevant subject related activities to promote students’ enthusiasm and interest
- To work collaboratively within the subject team to reflect the whole school vision
- To work to foster a positive working environment in the curriculum area that supports students’ learning
- To play a part in the pastoral development of students particularly acting as a form tutor for a group of students
- To play an active part in the provision of a range of enrichment activities and extra-curricular activities across the curriculum area
