What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, passionate about Maths and working with young people. The ability to implement a strong curriculum, engage, enthuse and inspire young people to achieve success is key and we welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs.We are keen to support the development of less experienced practitioners or practitioners without A level teaching experience but strong subject knowledge and a keenness to learn to enable the teaching of A level in the future.

What the school offers its staff

Coombe Dean is an ambitious school which sets high expectations of its staff and pupils alike, challenging and supporting everyone to be the best that they can be so that, together, we can achieve our aspirations. We encourage all of our pupils to be enterprising and to take up leadership and enrichment opportunities throughout their time at school. We want to prepare our pupils for active leadership roles in the community as well as the workplace, preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life and providing them with access to knowledge that enables them to pursue their academic interests as well as unlocking future opportunities as adults who can understand, cooperate and shape the world. The academic success of our pupils at GCSE and A level means that our pupils have opportunities to follow their chosen courses at university, college, or to pursue training and employment locally, nationally and internationally.

Relationships between staff and pupils are very strong and a real strength of this school. Our staff are happy, morale is good and staff turnover is low. There is an active staff forum that is valued and listened to. Each department has a Senior Leadership link and Middle Leaders have a dedicated group that work well at supporting each other and drive the core aims of the school forward. People want to work at Coombe Dean School in both teaching and non-teaching roles.
