Teacher of Maths job summary
This is a full-time position; however we are flexible and all applications will be considered.
The department is comprised of seven members of staff, including a Lead Practitioner. Currently there are six GCSE classes and one A-Level class. Our key stage 4 and 5 results have been on a three year upward trend, in 2024, 768% of students achieved a 4+ in Maths. At A-level 100% of students achieved A*- C. This is an exciting time to join our school; as a community we are working together to ensure we continue to build on the successes of last year.
The Department benefits from a fortnightly timetabled collaborative planning period, giving staff time to reflect on subject pedagogy and collaboratively plan.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate their passion for Maths to students of all abilities. You will have the desire to make Maths the most interesting subject to every student in the school and you will have belief that every student can do well in your classroom.
The person appointed will be well supported through our teaching and learning coach, a well-established professional studies programme and through a comprehensive induction process. The school offers bespoke CPD opportunities including support for National Professional Qualifications and MA programmes.
Our recent OFSTED inspection in May 2024 made the following comments about teaching and relationships at school:
- Pupils are highly positive about their school. Staff are highly ambitious for all pupils, and pupils recognise and value this.
- Pupils’ behaviour is good. Lessons are calm and purposeful. Pupils’ attitudes to learning are positive.
- The curriculum is ambitious for all pupils and provides a strong foundation for their future learning.
- Teachers have detailed subject expertise.

A co-educational secondary school with 880 students, a growing Sixth Form and just fewer than 100 staff.
