Teacher of Maths & Economics job summary

About Us

Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2025, our Progress 8 score of +1.74, our students on average achieved nearly two grades higher than their peers nationally. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over 60% of pupils leaving us went on to Russell Group universities to study a range of academic subjects.

The Maths & Economics Departments

We are looking for a teacher who can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department and teach Maths across Key Stages 3 - 5 and A Level Economics. At GCSE, pupils study the Edexcel Maths specification with many students completing their GCSE in Year 9 or 10 and then going on to study qualifications such as Additional Maths and GCSE Further Maths. This provides a stepping stone for A Level Maths, which over 100 pupils choose to study each year. A third of our mathematicians also choose to study A level Further Maths. Due to the success and popularity of the subject, many of our pupils go on to study Maths related courses at university. As a top performing department within the school and country, pupils strive to succeed at the highest levels; in 2025, 92% of pupils achieved grades 9 - 4 in Maths GCSE with 54% awarded grades 9 - 7. At A Level, 74% of pupils achieved A*- B grades in Maths and 88% in Further Maths.
