Horsforth School is seeking to appoint a passionate and inspirational Teacher of Maths. We are looking for an inspiring teacher who can bring mathematics to life and help us to create a nurturing environment within which everyone can reach their full potential. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT, we would love to hear from you!

Horsforth School is no ordinary School, join us and you’ll see what we mean. No role in Horsforth School is ‘just a job’, you will become part of a team who work to support and develop our amazing students whilst giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your own career. We are very proud of our outstanding, highly motivated and enthusiastic staff team and strongly believe that working collaboratively, sharing ideas and supporting each other achieves great things and allows us to develop innovative teaching and learning strategies.

The successful candidate will work closely with the curriculum leader and the current maths team, who have a wealth of experience. Our aim is to recruit someone who can add to the team’s current strengths, has the ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of maths amongst our students.

The department has a strong track record for results having 89% of students at GCSE achieving Grades 4 to 9 last academic year and the overall progress 8 figures for the last 3 years are significantly positive. Our performance at Grade 9 was outstanding, with over 15% of pupils achieving the top grade. In other words, there’s never been a better time to join us. Results at post-16 are also consistently high with 74% of students attaining A*- B Grades at A Level. We have a strong offer at KS4, running GCSE Statistics alongside as an option subject as well as Further Maths GCSE, and at A Level we have high uptake, with three A level groups, a Core Maths cohort and a Further Maths group. Therefore, some experience of teaching at KS5 would be beneficial although not essential.
