Teacher of Maths job summary

We are seeking to appoint a talented and dedicated Teacher of Maths, with a passion for their subject, to join our team of talented staff from September 2025 or January 2026. Applications from ECT teachers are welcome and for teachers with the appropriate experience, there is the potential of a TLR allowance.

Our vision within Maths at OSA is to inspire students to understand the world they live in through learning; this is achieved by offering students a broad and balanced curriculum that allows for clear progression from KS3 to KS4. Maths is a successful subject that has improving outcomes each year. You would be joining a supportive team and a Teaching Academy were we invest in a thorough inductions and CPD programme for our staff.

Ormiston Sudbury Academy caters for 11 to 16-year olds. With 700 students on roll, we provide a vibrant learning environment. About you

The successful candidate will need to provide our students with an outstanding education in Maths, and work collaboratively with the Head of the Faculty to provide effective support with a view to continuing to raise standards, supporting the school in securing high standards of teaching and learning. This is an exciting time to join a team of staff who are working together to improve student outcomes and continually develop themselves as professionals.

Ormiston Sudbury Academy is based in the market town of Sudbury, which is in the southwest of Suffolk, near the Essex border. It has been part of OAT for over 10 years, joining the trust in September 2012. The school is an 11-18 co-educational academy with just over 700 students. The number of students who are eligible for pupil premium funding is slightly above the national average. Students’ ability on entry is historically lower than the national average and attainment and progress remains a key improvement priority for the school moving forwards.
