Salford City Academy has an exciting opportunity to appoint a teacher of Mathematics. This is an excellent opportunity for an excellent candidate who is passionate about Maths and wants to make a difference to the young people in our academy.
The Maths department at Salford City Academy aims to secure retention of knowledge and a depth of learning which results in students who are confident in taking their studies to the next level, whether that be further qualifications, higher education or into the workplace. The department has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with our latest set of GCSE Maths results on or above national average in grade 5+ and 7+ and some of the best in Salford. As a team, we are committed to continuing to strive for better in our provision for students. The focus of the curriculum is to develop procedural knowledge of the fundamental elements of mathematics in order for students to access further problem-solving elements and reason mathematically. We enjoy working collaboratively and engage in regular CPD to continue to develop our practice.

Salford City Academy is highly ambitious and very successful 11- 16 academy which is part of the United Learning Multi- academy Trust. In February 2022 Ofsted judged the academy to continue to be a good school citing ‘Pupils at Salford City Academy said that they enjoy coming to school to learn. They feel happy and safe at school.’ Leaders have high expectations of pupils’ behaviour. Pupils behave well in lessons and around the school. They are polite, courteous and well-mannered. Academic results at the academy have improves significantly from 2019. We were delighted to celebrate well above average results in 2022 and this summer we continued to achieve within the top three schools in Salford. Results in Maths and Science place us in the top 20% of all schools in the country.
State of the art facilities
The academy enjoys state of the art facilities and has a committed, high quality teaching team which is focussed on engaging and motivating all students. We have invested over 3.5 million in the last two years and a further 1.5 committed to be invested. Into the building over the past five years and investment won’t stop into the future. We have a state-of-the-art gymnasium, free for all staff, brand new dining, and catering facilities, vast outside space with a new 3G pitch, newly built music and drama rooms. Our digital strategy ensures students and staff have access to the latest digital and electronic resources. With staff having a personal surface pro laptop.
