What skills and experience we're looking for
In terms of the broader school, we recognise that teaching and leading is a demanding career and it is our aim to make sure that staff who have chosen to join the profession are as well supported as they can be. We have a zero tolerance approach to anything that interrupts the learning in a classroom and our central team deals with all behaviour issues, non-completion of homework, phone-calls and detentions to make sure that teachers are as free as possible to do the three things that matter most: mark, plan and teach. You will not be covering colleague's lessons or lunchtime or gate duties and you will have dedicated PPA time each week. At Bexleyheath, we prioritise our staff's mental health and fiercely protect that work / life balance. Due to our approach, we have excellent staff retention rates. We are currently accepting expressions of interest from Teachers of Science, Maths, English, Drama, ICT, Business Studies, Geography, Design Technology, Art, Media and Music. We are looking for passionate teachers who really enjoy teaching and we can be flexible on subject specialism for the right people. We warmly welcome visits to the school so you can see your relevant department in action and meet staff who you would be potentially working with from September. Our facilities are outstanding across the school so you would have all the tools available to you.Any position in education is inevitably laden with values and ideals and we are a school built on a shared ownership of these. We wish to give our students the very best start that we can in life and, through hard work and determination, we hope that these values and ideals start to take shape as something recognisable in the futures that we help build.

Bexleyheath Academy is a non-selective comprehensive situated in the heartland of Kent grammar schools. We have been on an incredible journey of improvement, from previously being in special measures to our current status as a good school and we have a fantastic team of friendly, happy staff in place who have worked hard to realise that transformation; students who are proud to be learning at the school and parents who firmly support the team here.
