What the school offers its staff
Our courses at both A level and GCSE follow the Eduqas specification and enjoy a strong track record of success. Our department also delivers the Creative Digital Media BTEC qualification at Level 2, with aspirations to deliver this at Level 3.
The industry standard equipment and contemporary furniture gives the Centre a very professional feel, providing students with the opportunity to learn in a realistic work related environment. The project to develop a Digital Media Centre has only been made possible by the generosity of sponsorship and donations from The Stationers’ Company.
The Centre is resourced to enable students from across all age and ability ranges to produce their own online media content, printed newspapers and magazines. Officially opened in May 2017, the Stationers’ Digital Media Centre has generated a large amount of excitement across the Academy. Students are working on exciting projects, for example, how to become responsible Digital Citizens; identifying ‘fake news’; and, working in collaboration with Ravensbourne University. In 2019 we were delighted to be announced as the winner in the ‘Best Podcast’ category of the Shine School Media Awards.
