“Being the best version of Sprowston that we can be”
We are looking to appoint a passionate and creative teacher of Modern Foreign Languages. Ideally applicants will have a specialism in Spanish but an ability to also teach other languages would be valued. We currently offer languages to GCSE level but with sufficient student interest we would be willing to offer A level provision in the future.
The successful candidate will be passionate about languages and committed to teaching students of all abilities. We want to inspire and engage students so that they enjoy learning a modern foreign language and see it as a relevant and valuable skill in the world that we live in. We are particularly keen to encourage more students to choose to study languages to a higher level, including A level. There is a strong international dimension in the school and we frequently welcome exchange students from a range of countries. We are keen to further promote this international dimension and to encourage our students to see themselves as part of a global community. An ability to offer a contribution to this aspect of student's personal development would be an asset in this role as would be any contribution to the wider life of the school.
Sprowston Community Academy is a growing 11-18 school. We are exceptionally proud of the journey that we are on and the provision that we offer young people. Our ethos is focused on high expectations for academic development, behaviour and personal development. We believe that strong relationships are at the heart of our school and inclusion runs through everything that we do.
This role will suit an Early Career Teacher. We are committed to providing high quality support and CPD and the successful applicant will join a team that is extremely welcoming, collaborative and supportive.
We reserve the right to close these vacancies early if sufficient applications are received and therefore early application is encouraged.
