What skills and experience we're looking for

We seek an enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of MFL to join our dynamic, high performing, hard-working MFL Department. A teacher who is passionate about working with young people of all abilities and has the talent and drive required in shaping, and delivering an outstanding MFL provision.

We would welcome a recently qualified teacher or more experienced teacher who can bring fresh ideas and add to the academic specialisms of the staff. We are happy to consider candidates with French, German or Spanish as their primary teaching language. The successful applicant will be creative, well organised and will actively assist and make a significant contribution to the further development of MFL within the school.

This is a new permanent position and has come about due to the expansion of the MFL faculty and the continued increase in students joining one of the largest and most successful 11-16 schools in Sunderland and Washington.

What the school offers its staff

Working in our academy will be demanding as well as very rewarding. We assure you that as our colleague you will be of great value and importance, an importance reflected in the quality of our induction and professional development programmes. "Oxclose is a school that grows from strength to strength. Staff feel supported and believe they receive support and development needed. All staff are happy to work at the school.” (Ofsted January 2020)

Commitment to safeguarding

Oxclose Community Academy is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. As part of our due diligence and to comply with our obligations in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, an online search of publicly available information will be undertaken for all shortlisted candidates. The successful applicant will be subject to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure.
