The Spanish Department at Oasis Academy John Williams is seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish teacher to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for educators looking to expand their experience across both KS3 and KS4 levels.
Our department works collaboratively on a 5-year, centrally designed curriculum that is regularly adapted to meet the needs of our students. We also support teaching with subscriptions to top online vocabulary learning platforms, ensuring students receive the best resources to enhance their language skills.
In addition to our successful GCSE Spanish club, we previously ran an exciting trip to Spain, offering students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and culture. There will be opportunities to contribute to future trips and extracurricular activities.
We are particularly eager to hear from individuals who are committed to raising the profile of languages in school and are excited to help us build on current offerings, such as expanding opportunities for KS3 students or even introducing new languages through extracurricular provision.
If you are enthusiastic about inspiring students and making a difference in the language department, we would love to hear from you!

About Us
Oasis Academy John Williams is a vibrant and ambitious community, serving just over 860 young people in modern, exceptionally well-maintained buildings. As part of the Oasis Community Learning family, we are committed to delivering exceptional education that helps every student thrice – academically, socially and emotionally.
In our most recent inspection, in September 2023, we were once again judged to be a Good school, reflecting our consistent commitment to high standards and inclusive excellence.
We are proud to be the school of choice for our local community, a fact demonstrated by being oversubscribed for several years. Our context is richly diverse: 22% of our students have special educational needs, 45% are disadvantaged, and 63% are White British. This diversity enriches our culture and fuels our determination to ensure that every young person—regardless of background or starting point—receives the support, challenge and care they need to flourish.
Our commitment to inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do. We work intentionally to help our young people develop an understanding and appreciation of difference, ensuring they grow into respectful, empathetic and socially aware individuals. Through daily Personal Development sessions, we support students to become well rounded, confident and responsible young adults who are ready to face the challenges of life beyond school and contribute positively to their communities throughout their lives.

Oasis Academy John Williams is a secondary academy in South Bristol which currently serves just over 880 young people. We are housed in a modern new build [opened in September 2010] with a host of subject specialist rooms and in December 2016 we further enhanced our facilities with a state of the art AstroTurf and tartan-running strip. The Academy is part of the Oasis South West Cluster which has three established secondary schools ( John Williams, Brislighton and Brighstowe) and two additional new start up Free Schools ( Daventry Road and Temple Quarter) opening very soon. Our last Ofsted inspection was in September 2017 where we were again judged to be a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ Leadership and Management. Our student population is 84% White British, 15% SEN, 43% Disadvantaged and 32% FSM. We are proud to be the school of choice for so many in our local community and we have been heavily over-subscribed for the past seven years. We have a strong, supportive staff team committed to raising standards for all our students. Our centrally planned and knowledge-rich curriculum is implemented through evidence-based T&L, rooted in the science of learning and principles of Rosenshine. You will be at the forefront of education technology through the Oasis Horizons project which includes the use of 32GB 8th generation Wi-Fi enabled iPads by all staff and students.
