We have a vacancy for a confident, enthusiastic, suitably qualified applicant for the post of teacher of modern foreign languages, to join a large, successful faculty from September 2025
The successful candidate will:
- required to be able to speak at least two languages, from French, Spanish, and German
- be an excellent language teacher across the full age and ability range
- have a passionate commitment to making languages stimulating and relevant for all
- be familiar with Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 National Curriculum and GCSE requirements
- have the ability to teach to Key Stage 4 as a minimum, ideally Key Stage 5
- be a skilled ICT practitioner
- be willing to contribute to the wider life of the School
- have the calibre and ambition to develop his or her career in and beyond this post
At King Edward VII School languages play a prominent part in the life of the School and consistently achieves excellent results. We offer the students the chance to study Spanish, French, German, Urdu and Arabic GCSE and a variety of A Levels at the School. We regularly take trips abroad to show students the culture and customs of the language they are learning which we believe helps them develop further. The department consists of nine specialist staff along with excellent administration support. The post will involve ensuring the quality of the MFL provision in terms of curriculum delivery, assessment and achievement in languages.
