What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and professional Music Teacher with excellent subject knowledge to to join our Performing Arts Department. Our extra curricular groups are popular and there would be many opportunities for the successful candidate to teach small classes and individuals who wish to develop their musical skills. Ability to teach another subject would be desirable although not essential.

We are looking for a teacher who can inspire and influence and who has:

  • Evidence of professional development.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Highest expectation of achievement, attainment, behaviour and ethos.
  • A willingness to contribute to whole school activities.

We're excited to recruit to this position where the post holder will teach pupils from Year 7-9, where you would be well supported by a Subject Lead in Performing Arts with over 25 years of teaching experience. We follow the Eduqas Exam Board where we use a professional recording studio for GCSE student compositions and performances. In recent years we have had pupil performances of Oliver!, Little Shop of Horrors and We Will Rock You, and we're excited for our upcoming performance of Matilda Jr this academic year. We're proud of our school choir that performed in a recent Hartlepool Musical Concert that was attended by the The Lord Mayor and other dignitaries.
