What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you a dynamic and talented practitioner with an undeniable passion and flair for Music and drama? If so, we invite you to apply to join our successful and vibrant school community. We are seeking applications from aspirational colleagues who possess exceptional subject knowledge and share our enthusiasm for the arts. If you have the skills and knowledge to cultivate an ambitious, innovative culture in performing arts, we want to hear from you!
At KS3, our pupils immerse themselves in the worlds of music and drama, preparing for the diverse pathways we offer at KS4, including GCSE and BTEC qualifications. Our Performing Arts Department is exceptionally well-resourced. It is equipped with two performance spaces, one of which was newly built in 2020 and the other having been equipped with new lighting system last summer. The subject area has a variety of instruments, superb access to technology and is led by two subject specialists, including an experienced and dedicated Subject Lead for Performing Arts. In collaboration with Lancashire Music Service, our school benefits from peripatetic teachers, ensuring a rich and comprehensive learning experience. A thriving school choir, performing regularly at events throughout the academic year, adds to the vibrancy of our performing arts community, and is now supported by a growing staff choir.
As a school, we boast strong connections with Clitheroe’s ‘The Grand’ theatre venue, where we actively participate in the GRAB event, a talent show at which our pupils compete with peers from other local schools. These opportunities, alongside our outstanding Enrichment curriculum, create a rich tapestry of experiences on offer for all of our pupils.
The opening of our first reception class this September heralded the start of a new era for the school as we became an all-through school, catering for pupils from the age of 4 to 16. Most recently, the music department collaborated with our EYFS Lead and Primary Phase Lead to host our first carol service as a through school. The successful candidate will play a critical part in further developing music and drama throughout all year groups.
Joining our team at this exciting juncture presents a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate. With a growing number of pupils pursuing music and drama at KS4, this role will allow the successful candidate to be a key contributor to our success story. As a member of our team, you’ll become part of a thriving subject area within the school, working alongside a cohesive, forward-thinking, and ambitious group of educators.
If you are ready to inspire Ribblesdale’s staff and pupils and contribute to the flourishing performing arts culture in our school, we encourage you to apply and join us on this journey as we continue to foster a love for drama and music in the hearts and minds of our pupils. Be part of a community that truly values creativity, innovation and the holistic development of every pupil!
To apply please send in your application form (which can be found on our website) and a supporting letter of no more than 3 sides of A4 (Arial 11) detailing the qualifications, skills and experience which equip you for this role to Emma Day vacancies@ribblesdale.org no later than 9.00 am on Friday 9th February 2024.
