What skills and experience we're looking for
Purpose
We are looking for an inspiring and passionate teacher to join the Music Department at our school. You will be working within the Creative Arts Faculty, a friendly and supportive team with lots of opportunity for collaboration and teamwork. The Music Department is well equipped with a large practical classroom, a dedicated Mac Suite, Recording Studio and suite of practice rooms. Our aim is to ignite a passion for music and the arts: to foster musicianship, creativity, and curiosity which will empower students on a journey of self-expression and lifelong musical exploration. We believe that all students should have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and subsidise instrumental and vocal lessons to facilitate this.
Principal Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be required to:
be an inspiring and motivational teacher of Music to all abilities ensuring learning is engaging and inclusive
work with the Head of Music and in collaboration with other staff to develop schemes of work and wider curriculum
commit to the school SEARCH ethos
have the ability and willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school, including supporting school concerts and the annual school show.
play an active role as a tutor within a structure as outlined below
ensure the behaviour management system is implemented in the Music Department so that effective learning can take place.
