Location: Corby Technical School
Salary: MPS/UPS
Start Date: ASAP
Corby Technical School require a highly motivated, hardworking and inspiring Music Teacher. Providing high standards of teaching and learning, you will work alongside other colleagues in the school to deliver the Music curriculum. In particular, we are keen to secure an experienced teacher who is capable of supporting a year 11 GCSE class through the latter part of their GCSE studies.
We teach an engaging Music curriculum and believe strongly in teaching performing arts through immersive activities. Students are encouraged to celebrate their own diversity, and to embrace the arts from a wide variety of traditions. We are proud to teach creative, enthusiastic students who thrive on encouragement and opportunities. Performance opportunities are growing and are highly supported by the whole school and attended by SLT.
The Music department is housed in its own purpose-built area with practise rooms, storage, and well-equipped spaces. We have use of a full samba kit, a class set of West African drums and a class act of ukuleles, as well as two drum kits, three electric pianos, a baby grand piano and numerous guitars, available for the students to play. We also have a suite of Apple MACs with MIDI keyboards, and access to Garageband and Logic Pro software.
We have access to a technician who supports the Performing Arts subjects across our Trust secondary schools and can be used to support live or recorded performances.
Supported by the Head of Performing Arts, you will be given all the freedom you need to be creative, and you will be working with students who - within the context of a technical school - thrive with the opportunity to express themselves. Days and times by mutual agreement.
