Sixth Form – ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted January 2020)
Personal Development - ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted January 2020)
We are looking for a passionate music specialist to join our Performing Arts Faculty. We are an inclusive, high performing comprehensive school with a relentless commitment to high achievement for all. Progress 8 has been well above national average for the last 7 years. In 2023 it was in the top 16% of all schools nationally. A level results are consistently ALPS 3 or higher. 2023’s A level APS was in the top 18% of all schools nationally. Music plays a pivotal role in the life of our school where ‘enrichment’ is one of our core values. It is also an integral part of our broad curriculum offer for Years 7 to 13, with both G.C.S.E. and A level music being offered.
Music is housed in three adjacent classrooms. Two of these are equipped with computers fitted with the Sibelius software package and keyboards. All students learn how to play the keyboard at KS3. There are also two practice rooms where individual, instrumental lessons led by staff from the Essex Music service take place.
This post is suitable for either an Early Career Entry Teacher or a more experienced practitioner. The successful candidate will teach music up to and including A level. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dedicated, highly supportive performing arts team.
Visits to the school prior to application are warmly welcomed and can be arranged by contacting Sue Monger (Headteacher’s P.A.) using the contact details below. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and is not suitable for anyone who has been barred in any way from working with children.
