What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you someone who is passionate about promoting the value of Music to students? Are you able to inspire students to a love of your subject whilst also maintaining the highest expectations for academic achievement? Are you able to lead and manage with high standards of integrity and organisation? If so, we would be thrilled to hear from you.

We are seeking an expert Curriculum Leader of Music or Teacher of Music, an individual who can build on the excellent work of the current postholder who is relocating to a different part of the UK. As the Curriculum Lead for Music or Teacher of Music, you will have the opportunity to lead and work with a talented team to inspire and motivate young people to discover and pursue their own passion for the subject. You will work closely with the Curriculum Lead for Drama in order to promote the Performing Arts across the school. If you are up for the challenge and have the skills and experience required to excel in this role, we would love to have you join our team.

The successful candidate will have a secure understanding of curriculum development and delivery in Music from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 and knowledge of exam specifications at KS4 and A Level. You will be adept at managing and motivating staff, providing them with the support and resources needed to deliver high-quality education. We are looking for a leader or teacher with excellent communication skills and a passion for promoting the value of music and the wider performing arts. You will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that enables students to thrive and achieve their full potential, both academically and creatively.

We value our co-curricular provision at The Misbourne and recognise the vital importance of music in providing students with regular opportunities to showcase their talents. You will play a key role in shaping the co-curricular provision where a range of activities are provided to develop the skills of our students across music and performing arts. Our superb annual school production involves a significant number of students from across the school community and is a highlight of the school calendar. Our other activities including bands, choirs and theory clubs are well attended and play an important role in shaping the culture of the school.

We would be delighted to invite prospective applicants to visit our school and experience firsthand what makes us a great place to work.
