ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our vibrant and ambitious Music department at Trinity Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher to inspire students, nurture a love of music, and contribute to a culture of creativity and high achievement within the Academy.
As a Teacher of Music, you will play a key role in delivering a knowledge‑rich and skills‑focused Music curriculum, ensuring students of all abilities access high‑quality teaching. You will help students develop strong musical understanding, performance skills, creativity, composition techniques, and critical listening abilities, while fostering an environment where excellent progress and enjoyment go hand in hand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high‑quality Music teaching across key stages, ensuring lessons are well‑structured, challenging, and grounded in strong subject expertise.
- Contribute to the refinement and implementation of a rigorous, knowledge‑rich Music curriculum.
- Inspire students to engage with performance, composition, music theory, and listening skills with curiosity and confidence.
- Support and prepare students for internal assessments, GCSE Music examinations, and further musical study.
- Promote wider engagement in Music through ensembles, choirs, concerts, instrumental tuition, enrichment activities, and extracurricular opportunities.
- Monitor student progress effectively, using assessment to inform planning and secure excellent outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to champion Music and the performing arts within the wider school community.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:
- A strong academic background, ideally with a good honours degree in Music, Music Education, Music Performance, or a closely related discipline.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Music, performance, and musical creativity.
- The ability to deliver inspiring, well‑organised lessons that motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with enthusiasm for contributing to a culture of high expectations and artistic excellence.
- A commitment to raising achievement in Music and ensuring all students make exceptional progress.
- An unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives, in line with our trust’s motto, libertas per cultum (freedom through education).
