What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom teacher who is passionate about Music,and is enthusiastic about Performing Arts in general. You will demonstrate a strong commitment toensuring that every child achieves the highest possible standards. Extra-curricular activities,including clubs, and trips to performances, are an important part of our offer.
Music is a popular choice at GCSE in Year 11, as is BTEC Performing Arts in the sixth form. Thepostholder will work with the music teaching team, and a large team of peripatetic teachers.
Music sits within the Creative Arts & Technology Faculty, which plays a central role in ourcurriculum offer.

Acland Burghley School, in partnership with the Orchestra of the Age ofEnlightenment (OAE), is seeking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Music. This is a unique career opportunity for a dynamic, skilled and committed musician to join our music department and work with a world-renowned orchestra in our school.
The post would suit an ECT, or a more experienced teacher looking to develop theircareer in a new setting.
In September 2020, the OAE moved into Acland Burghley School on a permanent basis as ourorchestra in residence. They have their offices and rehearsals on site and over the last three years have become an integral part of our school community. Our students have already benefitted from an exciting range of collaborative projects. Music teachers also benefit from the professional development opportunities the partnership offers.
