What skills and experience we're looking for
This post would suit either an Early Careers Teacher, or a more experienced Teacher seeking a new opportunity. The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), plus a relevant degree.

- Are well qualified to teach PE at Key Stages 3-5, including delivery of a range of courses including OCR GCSE PE, Vocational PE at Level 2, OCR Cambridge Technical in Sport and Physical Activity at Level 3, BTEC L2 Dance and OCR Cambridge Technical in Dance (Performing Arts) at Level 3.
- Possess the ability to inspire and motivate, and who have a passion for teaching and learning.
- Have consistently high expectations with the drive to help all students achieve their full potential.
- Are an exceptional team player and who enjoys supporting and working collaboratively with others.
- Have the skill to form positive relationships for learning with all staff, students and parents.

The role of the PE Department is to work hard to ensure that all students feel safe, secure in their learning, striving to achieve academic excellence. Our vision follows the 3 P’s:
- POSITIVE experience for all in PE
- PARTICIPATION in lessons for all in PE
- PERFORMANCE is recognised at all levels from engagement to elite in PE
The team currently consists of a Head of PE, reporting to an Assistant Head of School who also teaches PE, a Second in PE, two teachers of PE/Dance who also hold Head of Year responsibilities, a full time PE teacher and a part time Teacher of PE & Maths.
You will be part of a department that has access to excellent facilities to promote and develop high quality Physical Education. There is a full size 4G pitch, 4 badminton court sports hall, 4 external Netball Courts which also support 4 Tennis courts, Activity Hall and Dance Studio. The PE Department also has access to their own theory classroom, along with significant access to computer suites across the school site.
We deliver a variety of team and individual sports at KS3 & 4 including rugby, football, table tennis, netball, dance, basketball, handball, badminton, volleyball, yoga, gymnastics, trampolining, cricket, tennis, athletics, cheerleading and rounders.
Examination courses delivered include OCR GCSE PE, we currently have a class in Year 10 and in Year 11. We deliver a vocational Key Stage 4 course, the OCR Cambridge National in Sports Studies at Level 2, we currently have two classes in Year 10 and two in Year 11. We deliver BTEC Dance, with a class in Year 10 and Year 11. At Level 3, we deliver the OCR Cambridge Technical in Sport and Physical Activity and have a class in Year 12 and Year 13, as well as the Level 3 Dance pathway, where we have a Year 12 class.
Our extra-curricular program is extensive. We offer clubs at lunchtime and afterschool, in addition to in-house interform competitions for each year group once a term. We host external coaches in school including Cricket East, Youth Dreams Project, Peterborough United, Table tennis and GB talent ID rowing sessions
Trips in our department have included a visit to the Copper Box arena - Netball Fast5, performing at the Formula 1 Silverstone grand prix, British Basketball finals, Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium and Outdoor Adventurous Activities at Grafham Water.

Hampton Gardens is an 11-19 free school which opened in September 2017 to an initial intake of 180 Year 7 students. When full, the school will accommodate 1200 students in years 7-11 and 300 students in Sixth Form.
Hampton Gardens is part of the Hampton Academies Trust who also run the highly successful and popular Hampton College all-through school, Hampton Lakes Primary School and Dogsthorpe Infant School. HAT schools have very close links and some shared staff.
