What skills and experience we're looking for

  • The successful candidate will teach core PE as well as GCSE PE (AQA) at KS4 which is a really popular option. Experience of teaching BTEC at Key Stage 5 would be an advantage.
  • The Physical Education Department currently comprises 5 full time specialists,1 part time specialists and one specialist support assistant. We have a strong team ethos and pride ourselves on our consistency of approach and sharing good practice to ensure the progress of the students. We are therefore, looking for a subject specialist for PE who is willing to contribute to the department, enjoys being part of a team and is enthusiastic about developing Physical Education in our school.
  • The department’s facilities include an impressive sports hall, use of an on-site swimming pool, multi-use games area (MUGA) which is an outside area offering four netball courts and four tennis courts and vast fields comprising 3 football pitches and a rugby pitch; in addition, the ongoing programme of construction will deliver a new Fitness Suite and Dance Studio for September 2023. PE has a thriving extra-curricular timetable and the school competes in a wide variety of sports, both locally and nationally.
