Teacher of PE job summary

The Rowans AP Academy is seeking to appoint a highly effective Teacaher of Physical Education to join the PE Department, to start from 27th August 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about engaging young people who have experienced barriers to mainstream education, and who understands the power of physical activity, relationships and consistency in supporting pupils with SEMH needs.

This is a full time, permanent role, paid on the STPC Main/Upper pay scale, dependent on experience, with an SEN allowance of £5,497.

In Alternative Provision, versatility is essential. While this role has a clear focus on PE and curriculum delivery, we would welcome applications from candidates who also have an interest in delivering a second subject across the curriculum. This does not need to be an area of specialist expertise; rather, we are looking for someone who is flexible, open to development, and committed to meeting pupils’ wider learning needs.

This post would suit an experienced or Early Career Teacher with good prospects for career development.
