What skills and experience we're looking for

We would like to appoint a committed, energetic and enthusiastic teacher of Physical Education with the ability to teach KS3 Maths, to join our very highly performing department. It offers BTEC Sport, GCSE PE and Health and Social Care and consistently achieves results in line with the top 5% of schools nationally.

We aim to create a climate of success and enjoyment, using target language as much as possible. We are committed to developing autonomous learners, with an enthusiasm to communicate and an awareness of other cultures. We provide a wide variety of differentiated resources with a strong IT focus within a flexible and supportive learning environment. We run a strong extra-curricular offer that we are keen to expand further.

It is expected that the successful candidate will have the drive to inspire students to achieve the best possible results and be good communicators, able to interact effectively and restoratively with a wide and diverse group of people. Applicants should demonstrate a well thought out philosophy of education which reflects the needs of all learners and to play a full part in the life of the school community, to support its distinctive mission and strong inclusive ethos and to encourage and ensure staff and students follow this example.

Most importantly, as far as personal characteristics are concerned, we would like to find someone with warmth, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a generosity of spirit. Last, but by no means least, a sense of humour is essential!
