Teacher of Physical Education job summary
Teacher of Physical Education
Required for September 2021, an enthusiastic, well-qualified and successful classroom practitioner to teach PE at KS3, KS4 and KS5. We are looking for a colleague who has a real passion for their subject, who is able to enthuse and motivate students and for someone who has high standards. ‘Colfox’ has a reputation for excellence in sport that extends far beyond the county. We are interested to hear from people with a wide range of interests but are especially keen to continue to develop girl’s participation in a range of team and individual sports.
The candidate will be joining a department of 4 specialist teachers and a school sports coordinator who manages primary partnerships and leadership programmes. PE is a very popular curriculum subject in the school from 11-19 and we offer GCSE, A Level and the BTEC National Level 3 Extended Diploma. Please visit the website for more information about the school and if you feel you require more information about us or the role please contact the Head of Faculty, Gary Littlechild, who will be happy to help you littlechildg@colfox.dorset.sch.uk
This is a great time to join our school as we consolidate links with the three feeder primary schools which form part of our Multi-Academy Trust (The Minerva Learning Trust). We work closely with colleagues across the MLT, sharing ideas about assessment, literacy, numeracy and other areas of pedagogy. We are members of the Jurassic Coast Teaching Alliance, which enables us to participate in a diverse range of initiatives. We are an outwardly facing school in a beautiful part of the country and have strong links with our local community as a Rights Respecting School. The school buildings and its PE facilities (including a full size floodlight all weather pitch and a four court badminton sportshall) are excellent.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. We will accept applications from all potential candidates and would note that we have a very effective and supportive programme of CPD for new staff and NQT’s.
An application form and details can also be downloaded from either the school website: www.colfox.org or you can apply online at: www.dorsetforyou.com/jobs.
Completed application forms should be emailed to the Headteacher’s PA, Amanda Tuck a.tuck@colfox.dorset.sch.uk
Closing Date: Thursday 4 February 2021
Interviews: Week beginning 8 February 2021
If you do not hear from us by Friday 12 February 2021 then unfortunately, on this occasion, your application has not been successful.
The Minerva Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and all successful applicants will be vetted through a DBS check.
