- Have a vocational or academic qualification in a relevant subject area at NVQ level 2 or above, together with previous practical experience in an appropriate work area.
- Are familiar with safe and proper use of any specialist equipment for which the post will be responsible

- Passionately believe in the power of education to change lives
Essential knowledge and skills:
- An honours degree (or equivalent) in Physical Education or a related discipline
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience of improving outcomes for students in Physical Education as a classroom teacher
- Successful experience of teaching Physical Education across Key Stage 3-4 in a state 11-16 or 11-18 school
- An understanding of effective pedagogy
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Experience of leading school trips
- Experience of delivering extra-curricular activities
- Ability to teach a range of sports and physical activities
- Experience of delivering extra-curricular activities
- Ability to travel independently
Desirable knowledge and skills:
- First Class Upper second-class degree in a Physical Education or a related discipline
- Additional qualifications or accreditation to teach or coach in a sporting environment
- Experience of having taught NCFE Sports qualifications at Post 16
- Ability to teach an additional subject(s) to Key Stage 3 or further
- Ability or desire to teach Health and Social Care
- Experience of, and commitment to support, staffing of Duke of Edinburgh Award or similar
- Successful teaching experience of A-level in a Physical Education related discipline
- Ability to drive and access to own car
- License to drive a minibus

We are looking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational teacher of PE to join our highly successful Sport, Health and Outdoor Education team. This is a very rare and exciting opportunity to join an already high-performing faculty area and to support the vision for excellence being developed by our Director of Sport alongside our Head of PE.
This post has emerged as a result of an exciting new collaboration between Twynham Sixth Form and AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust. We deliver a Post 16 Football Education Programme based at The Grange School and we require a strong teacher of PE to add additional staffing capacity to our team.
