A rare opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Teacher of science to join the academy. The Teacher of Physics will be a part of our-performing physics team, working closely with the Head and SLT, along with other subject leads, in planning, coordinating, and evaluating curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment to continuously improve pupil progress. The successful candidate will promote the highest standards across the department through high quality leadership and support and will also work collaboratively to continue the development of our excellent science curriculum across the trust.
The Opportunity
Deliver high quality teaching and pastoral support to all students.
In line with our model of vertical tutoring all teachers are required to be form tutors with the associated pastoral responsibilities.
Demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour which are expected of pupils.
Demonstrate a critical understanding of developments in the subject and curriculum areas, and promote the value of scholarship.
The ideal candidate
Good educational background including a good Honours Degree or equivalent.
Qualified Teacher Status.
Excellent classroom practitioner.
Understanding of and commitment to teaching standards.
Commitment to continual improvement and challenging norms.

Stratton is a 11 to 19 school with a roll of around 1000 students. This includes approximately 150 students in our Sixth Form

Stratton is a thriving Upper School with around 1,000 students on roll. The school has grown considerably in recent years; it is popular with the local community and includes over 250 students in the Sixth Form. In many respects we are a true comprehensive school with a full ability range. As the only education provider in the town, our challenge is to move effortlessly between preparing Yr13 students for top universities to working with students who without our support could have rejected the concept of education. Our students are our best advertisement, although closely followed by the dedication of our staff.
