Associate Head of Faculty: Business Studies job summary

The Faculty of Applied Learning

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Business Studies to lead the department, a part of the Applied Learning Faculty.

Business Studies is successful at both GCSE and A-level, with a large cohort for A-level Economics, and offers GCSE Business, A-Level Business and (Level 3) BTEC National Business. These subjects are a highly popular option for students at Key Stage 4 and 5 with students achieving good results and many students going on to study these subjects at degree level at highly competitive universities.

Head of Department role and teaching requirements

The candidate will need the leadership qualities and management skills to contribute to leading Business Studies and Economics within the Faculty. The department has a strong track record of success at A Level and inspires many pupils to pursue Business Studies in the Sixth Form, the popularity of the subject and the size of our cohort brings many opportunities to contribute to the work of an outstanding Sixth Form.

Additionally, the Head of Department role will engage with data to monitor and target progress interventions and contribute to CPD opportunities within the Faculty. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative and supportive team under the direction and management of the Head of Faculty.
