What skills and experience we're looking for

The Department

* The Humanities Directorate is a supportive and dedicated department staffed by a small and cohesive team who work together to achieve excellent outcomes for students.

* The department comprises RE, History and Geography at key stages 3 and 4, and RE, Criminology, Law, Psychology and Sociology in the sixth form.

* The vision of the department in developing the curriculum has been recognised by the Bernice McCabe award for curriculum design and the Princes Teaching Institute centre of excellence quality mark.

* The Directorate is at the forefront of the Academy’s co-curricular offer and runs a wide range of trips to enhance student understanding of individual subjects, as well as improve students’ life experiences.


The Role

We are looking for an RE teacher who:

* has excellent subject knowledge in Religious Education at all key stages

* is experienced in teaching KS3, KS4 and KS5

* is an enthusiastic teacher and able to engage and motivate pupils to reach beyond their potential plans and delivers outstanding lessons

* will mark, feedback and report on assessments within RE with a focus on improving students through success

* is willing to contribute to the award-winning RE curriculums at Broadway and continually develop their subject and pedagogical knowledge

* will actively contribute to department meetings and build strong relationships with others

* (TLR focus) can lead on and be responsible for KS5 RE

* (TLR focus) has the drive and initiative to promote and increase RE A Level uptake
