What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher of Reading and Phonics to join our team from May 2023 or September 2023 (or earlier if available).

We are looking for a teacher to lead our delivery of reading and phonics interventions across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.This member of staff will contribute to the life chances of the young people in our school community and our vision that all students leave Cantell School being able to read at, or above, age level.

This role is suitable for a Primary or Secondary specialist and would include delivering small group reading and phonics intervention.The candidate would also lead our teaching of phonics, including delivering staff CPD.

The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching phonics and reading at either Primary or Secondary level, and will be able to effectively assess, monitor and respond to each student’s needs to ensure they make rapid progress.This role will allow genuine scope to improve the opportunities and outcomes of students in our school community.

This role would suit a candidate looking for part-time hours. Availability from 8.15am onwards is essential.
