What skills and experience we're looking for
Queen Elizabeth’s Academy is seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Teacher of Religious Education to join our team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an academically minded and committed educator who wishes to contribute to our Christian ethos by playing a full part in the spiritual and intellectual life of the academy.
Religious Education holds a central place in the life of Queen Elizabeth’s Academy. Inspired by the Parable of the Good Samaritan, we encourage all members of our community to strive to be the very best versions of themselves. Our curriculum engages students in rigorous academic study, critical thinking and meaningful dialogue about contemporary issues. Through RE, liturgy and wider school life, we aim to support our students in developing their faith, understanding and moral responsibility.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Has a strong passion for Religious Education and theology
- Is committed to high academic standards and excellent classroom practice
- Understands the formative role of RE within a Church of England school
- Will actively uphold and contribute to the Christian ethos of the academy
- Is keen to contribute to RE at GCSE- whole cohort follows full course
