Job Overview

Are you a highly skilled, creative and ambitious Teacher of Social Sciences?

Are you able to teach Religious Studies and PSHCE to KS3 and 4 as part of our highly regarded Beliefs and Life Curriculum?

Are you newly qualified and seeking your first teaching role? Or perhaps you are an experienced teacher looking to move to a new school which will support your development and growth?

Do you have a passion for teaching and a commitment to providing students an exceptional experience?

Do you want to join a team of dedicated, talented teachers in a well-resourced department where schemes of work and lesson resources are ready to use to help you deliver an exciting, challenging curriculum?

Do you believe in an inclusive environment where all learners can be successful?

Would you like to work in a school where “Leaders, including Governors, value the work of staff and where new teachers speak highly of the support they are given”? (Ofsted June 2023)

Are you looking to work in a thriving and well-regarded school where staff well-being is central to all of our decision making?

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes” then we would like to hear from you.

Waingels, a popular 11-18 school where students achieved above national average in all measures and was identified as “continuing to be good” in a recent OFSTED inspection, is seeking to appoint a Teacher of RS and PSHCE to further enhance our provision.

This is an exciting opportunity for either a newly qualified teacher (ECT), or a more experienced teacher seeking a new challenge or experience. We would consider full or part- time teachers.

The successful candidate will teach a combination of subjects, dependent on skills and experience, across the range of subjects we offer at Key Stage 3 and 4, with an opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for the appropriate person.

Religious Studies is taught alongside PSHCE to students in KS3 and 4 as part of our innovative and well-regarded Beliefs and Life Curriculum. We also offer Psychology (KS4 & 5), Citizenship (KS4) and Criminology (KS5) as part of our highly regarded and successful Social Sciences department.

Working with us offers you the opportunity to:

Join a “kind and caring school” where pupils “enjoy being part of the inclusive community” (OFSTED 2023) that aims to be an “exceptional school at the heart of our community”.

Be part of a forward-thinking department with well-resourced schemes of work and where teachers are encouraged to be innovative and try out a range of teaching styles.

Engage in excellent, personalised professional development opportunities.

Join a school where early finishes for parent consultation evenings and free tea and coffee every day are just some of the ways we ensure staff well-being is central to our decision making.

Work in a school that has been designated a “Leading” school for Personal Development by Challenge Partners.

Work in a school where the values of Respect, Kindness, Pride and Responsibility underpin all we do.

If you feel your value and ethos align with ours, this is an exciting opportunity for you to either begin or advance your career.

Our staff and students are proud of our school and we would be happy to welcome you if you would like to come and have a closer look round before applying. Additionally, please feel free to contact us for an informal conversation with a hiring manager.
