Rickmansworth School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join our school. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support students in their spiritual and intellectual journey, helping them develop a deep understanding of religious beliefs, ethics, and philosophies, and enabling them to achieve their full potential. As a Religious Studies Teacher at our school, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, contributing to the overall success of the department and the school. About the Religious Studies Department:
At Rickmansworth School, the Religious Studies department nurtures students' natural curiosity and develops their critical thinking and evaluative skills to help them understand the world around them. Religious Studies is taught across all Key Stages with consistently strong exam results. The curriculum spans three key areas: Religion, Philosophy and Society. At GCSE, which is an option, students follow AQA Christianity and Islam. At KS3, students explore religion’s impact from multiple perspectives, studying Religious Studies once a week. At KS4, statutory requirements are met through dedicated Core Religious Studies days throughout the year.

Selection Process:
We are required for only shortlisted candidates to conduct online searches about an applicant as part of our shortlisting process in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance 2024 in order to identify any incidents or concerns which are publicly available online. On signing the declaration on application you will be agreeing to the acknowledgement that such searches will be conducted as part of the shortlisting process.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the school where there will be a number of related tasks, details of which will be discussed on the day. Interviews will be held with the Headteacher and possibly another member of SLT. There will also be a tour of the school estate and this may be conducted by other members of the school community.

Rickmansworth School is an 11-18 heavily oversubscribed co-educational partially (35%) selective academy with nearly 1455 students on roll, increasing to around 1575 students over the next five years. Academic results are strong at KS4 and KS5 with the vast majority of students securing their first choice university destinations.
