Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across the Science curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable)
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing targeted feedback to support improvement
  • Contribute to the development of an ambitious and knowledge-rich Science curriculum
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports excellent behaviour for learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental improvement
  • Participate in wider school life, including enrichment, trips, and extracurricular activities
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

The college was established in 1963, one of several village colleges in the region that were the inspiration of educational pioneer Henry Morris, who believed that the school should be at the heart of its community and that education should be a lifelong process.
