The Role
Great Marlow School is are looking for a teacher with experience and outstanding subject knowledge to join the Science Department in a full-time capacity on a fixed term basis (maternity cover).
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, ambitious and motivated teacher to join this successful and hard-working department. Applications are welcomed from individuals with a track record of outstanding classroom practice. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to command respect in the classroom and inspire students to realise their potential. Candidates should also be confident in using effective strategies to motivate ALL learners and in promoting the enjoyment of the subject across all year groups.

The School
Great Marlow School (GMS) is a successful, highly regarded, and popular school, GMS a fantastic place to work because there is a shared commitment to realise the potential in every child. Great Marlow School is a large co-educational secondary school located in the town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The school has around 1,450 students aged 11-19, with over 200 attending the sixth form.
Founded in 1961, the school converted to academy status in 2011 and in the last six years has invested £9 million in developing the school facilities including a state of the art sports centre, sixth form centre and performing arts accommodation. The Redgrave Sports Centre was named after former pupil and Olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, he opened in the centre in May 2013. The school and the sports centre are a 'hub' of the local community and host events and activities throughout the evenings, weekends and school holidays.
