We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Science for January 2026, who can demonstrate excellent subject knowledge, with a genuine enthusiasm to inspire a love of learning in our students. The successful candidate, ideally with a subject specialism in Biology, will join a stable, well-resourced, and very successful Science department offering a broad range of courses at both pre and post 16. The post would suit an experienced practitioner who is confident to teach up to Key Stage 5. Please indicate within your application whether you wish to be considered for this responsibility.

  • To teach challenging and enjoyable lessons across all key stages.
  • Confidently share new ideas, during staff meetings.
  • Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds, abilities, and dispositions.
  • Be aware of pupils’ capabilities and their prior knowledge, and plan teaching to build on these.
  • Encourage pupils to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.

The ideal candidate

  • Has Qualified Teacher Status and a good educational background including a good Honours Degree or equivalent.
  • Has experience of teaching and course management for BTEC/AAQ.
  • Can evidence both curricular and pastoral responsibilities.
  • Understands and is committed to teaching standards.
  • Has high personal standards in terms of attendance, punctuality and organising workload.
  • Is an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills.
  • Has a positive, enthusiastic, and professional approach towards work.
  • Has a willingness to undergo further training and development.
