Larkmead School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and inspiring classroom practitioner from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational, enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to join our thriving Science department. The position is suitable for ECT’s and experienced teachers.
About this Role
Larkmead School are looking for a passionate, creative and motivational Science specialist to join our vibrant and popular Science Faculty. We are looking for a teacher who can inspire and excite students and who can encourage inquisitive minds to consider the issues affecting individuals and their well-being. Your passion and creativity will be important to continue to develop the subject in the school. We are looking to explore the future possibilities for creating more learning outside the classroom and to run trips that make the subject come alive for all our students.
Our key intent as a school is to make our subjects real and relevant to our students and for them to recognise these links. You will join a Faculty that is friendly and supportive, where your input will be encouraged and valued and where you can hone and develop the skills for whatever steps you would like to take in the future.

As the successful candidate you will be:
- a qualified Science teacher who is always looking to develop
- confident teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
- passionate about all aspects of Science
- willing and able to teach other subjects as required within the faculty and beyond
- committed to making a difference to young people’s lives;
- a team player with excellent communication and inter-personal skills
