Science at St Clement’s

Science is a very successful department at St Clement’s High School. We have an established Knowledge Rich Curriculum which is fully resourced, providing Science teachers a consistent set of resources for every lesson and a structured plan in a common format. The Science department have dedicated technicians which allow us to embed practical work into every aspect of our courses. All teachers have their own specialist classroom, which is well-equipped including access to a visualiser and a range of scientific equipment.

 

Purpose of the Job


This is an exciting opportunity for an early career teacher or experienced teacher who is committed to enabling all students to achieve the very best they can and is dedicated to their own professional development.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

·        be passionate about the teaching of Science and able to inspire others to achieve success;

·        be an excellent classroom practitioner with an understanding of high quality teaching and learning;

·        have excellent subject knowledge;

·        be adept at monitoring data and providing intervention when needed


Teaching and Learning Responsibilities

·        To deliver a programme of teaching leading towards assessment of designated skills that is personalised to meet the needs of the class.

·        To use a variety of delivery methods to stimulate learning, appropriate to student abilities.

·        To prepare and share high quality and appropriate teaching resources.

·        To ensure a high quality learning experience for students that meets internal and external quality standards.


Personal and Professional Conduct

A teacher is expected to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct. They are to uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside school.
