Our Science Department has recently expanded due to an anticipated increase in student enrolment from September 2025.
The Science Department at Wrenn School is a dynamic and thriving hub of learning, dedicated to fostering a deep understanding and passion for science among students. With a team of experienced and enthusiastic educators, the department offers a comprehensive curriculum that spans the core scientific disciplines of biology, chemistry, and physics.
The department is well-equipped with laboratories and resources, providing students with hands-on learning experiences that enhance their theoretical knowledge. Emphasising both academic excellence and practical skills, the Science Department at Wrenn School prepares students for future scientific endeavours and careers, encouraging intellectual curiosity and a lifelong love for science.
About Wrenn School:
Wrenn is a vibrant learning community across two campuses. Our Doddington Road site supports Key Stage 3 students (ages 11–14) with a nurturing transition from primary school, while London Road provides a mature environment for Key Stages 4 and 5 (ages 14–18).
Set in beautiful grounds, Wrenn offers specialist facilities for Art, Music, Drama, and Design Technology, alongside extensive sports amenities including the Wrenn Astro, playing fields, and gyms.

Steeped in History, Wrenn school has been providing high quality education to the young people and families of Wellingborough for over 100 Years.
Our Upper School’s origins at London Road lie in Wellingborough County High School for Girls which was established in 1907. Our Lower School site at Doddington Road which was established in 1930, was once the Wellingborough Grammar School for boys. In 1975, under the then headmaster, Mr Harry Wrenn, the two schools merged to form Wrenn School and in 2025 we look forward to celebrating 50 years as Wrenn School.
Wrenn School is a split site school, the lower and upper school site, KS3 (Aged 11-14) are entirely based on our Doddington Road site with KS4 & 5 (14-19) predominantly based at London Road. The Educational environment is full of historical character and the school has retained many of its original features. The school has beautiful grounds, excellent Art, Music, Drama and Design Technology purpose-built facilities. The Wrenn Astro, playing fields, hard play areas and Gyms providing excellent facilities for the multitude of sports which are played across the school.

At Wrenn school ‘we set no limits and accept no excuses’ and we aim for excellence in all that we do.
