Teacher of Science job summary

Job title: Teacher of Science

Salary: Main Pay Range + well-being cash plan + pension scheme (TPS) + additional Lift Schools benefits

Hours: Full Time

Contract type: Permanent

Start date: Easter 2025 or sooner

With you in our classrooms, we can change lives.
We are seeking to appoint a committed, driven and inspiring Teacher of Science (all subject specialists welcomed) to join our academy in Easter 2025 or sooner.

Ready for your talents to be nurtured?
Come and play a vital role in ensuring our students receive the education they deserve. In collaboration with colleagues, you will deliver outstanding teaching to every child, in every classroom, every day. At our school, we ensure that you have the time and space needed to get on with what matters most - educating - so we remove as much administrative burden from you as possible.

The successful candidate will work within a highly ambitious department. Operating from a purpose built and very well equipped Science block, our team consists of a group of talented specialist teachers and a full-time technician.
We recognise that Science education does not stop when students leave the classroom door. We have a number of strong partnerships with local businesses and other organisations who add to our offer outside of the classroom. These include strong links with our partners at ExxonMobil, who run the local oil refinery. Trips and visits are commonplace. For example, recently a group of our Year 8 students became real-life engineers for the day and were successful in winning the Institution of Engineering and Technology's Faraday Challenge.

This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of young people.

About our school:
New Forest Academy is a successful and popular 11-16 academy adjacent to the New Forest National Park. We are proud to serve the Hythe and Waterside community.

The role is due to commence in Easter 2025. This is a full time, permanent position. Early applications are strongly encouraged as we will review and interview as suitable candidates apply.

School visits are warmly welcomed; please contact the School Operations Manager, Jess Mockridge on to arrange a time.

Closing date: 3 December 2024

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.

Lift Schools are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our people and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair and consistent recruitment process which is inline with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.

We are a Disability Confident Employer and there is a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria.
