What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a talented colleague to be a Teacher of Science at Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology (CAST), with experience of working in the health profession e.g., nurse, to helpdeliverthe T-levelHealthcourse. You will have the opportunity toteachstudents in Years 9 to 13. You will joinan innovative and highly committed team who support one another to succeed and share a deep interest in professional learning and development.
You will be well supported by our excellent departmentleaders,and your teaching will be underpinned by strongscienceschemes of work and assessmentsand the work of the United Learning subject advisory team.
Science is a key subject at CAST as it is studied by all students. In Years 10 and 11 all students study separate sciences at GCSE and Biology, Chemistry and Physics are amongst our most popular A levels in Years 12 and 13, withanincreasingnumber ofstudents also studying T levels inHealthandLaboratory Science.
This role is for a September 2026 start.
We may also consider this position on a part time basis.

Staff have eight training and marking days built into the academic year. There are numerous internal and external development opportunities available to all staff.

Consequently, student results are strong, for example in 2022 Attainment 8 was 59.53, Progress 8 +0.62 and students achieved well above national averages in STEM subjects with half of the cohort getting grade 7+.
