Stowmarket High School has an exciting future. This post is being offered on a fixed term basis from 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our happy and successful team.
You will be:
- An excellent communicator
- Tactful and discreet when dealing with confidential matters and sensitive situations
- Flexible and approachable, with a friendly can-do attitude
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
You will have:
- knowledge of the National Curriculum
- knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
- A good understanding of how children learn
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
- Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
- Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
- Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
- Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning

Stowmarket High School is situated in picturesque mid Suffolk with excellent commuter links to Cambridge, Ipswich and Norwich. We are an inclusive 11 – 18 Academy and part of Waveney Valley Academies Trust. 6th Form is currently not being offered. Construction of a new school is now complete on our current site and we have moved into our new state of the art school.
