What skills and experience we're looking for

Required from September 2025 or January 2026, Anglo European School is seeking a full or part time enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Science with a specialism in Biology to join a successful, collaborative and supportive Science Department. This position would be a suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher looking for a different challenge or environment.

In this department, KS3 students are taught general science. At GCSE, we aim to teach Science according to specialisms but, on occasion, teachers are required to offer beyond their science specialism and having the ability to do this is a distinct advantage. The role will involve teaching students in the sixth form; support and training will be available to support a suitably qualified candidate to teach both A level and IB courses.

All science staff are encouraged to contribute to the development of the curriculum and are actively involved in developing science pedagogy and practice. A commitment to STEM education, the extra-curricular programme and enrichment for our students is also highly valued.

The Science Department achieved 9-4 for GCSE Biology – 98%, Chemistry – 98% and Physics – 98% in summer 2024. The sciences are very popular in the Sixth Form with students taking A level and IB Science courses.
