The Candidate

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated teacher of Science with an infectious passion for their subject and specialist subject knowledge to join us at Granville Academy. You will be part of a team of expert Science teachers and will receive excellent support and opportunities for development within the academy and across the trust.

You must be confident in the delivery of both areas at KS3 and KS4 and have the ambition and dedication to continue to support the development of the curriculum and wider curriculum in line with current practice and research in effective teaching. ECTs are very welcome to apply for this post and would be well supported with the Trust ECT programme and internal school offer.

You will be able to support the promotion of excellent standards of student learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour through working effectively and collaboratively. You will be passionate about your specialist subject, recognise the importance and impact that this area of the curriculum has on a students wider life, on their future destinations and career prospects.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a relevant degree and PGCE (or equivalent) with evidence of continuous professional development

  • Be a strong classroom practitioner with subject expertise in either Chemistry, Biology or Physics

  • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the well-being of students and staff

  • Demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude, energy, and adaptability to change

  • Be committed to the ethos and values of Affinity Learning Partnership
