What skills and experience we're looking for

Longfield Academy has a great opportunity to appoint a talented and inspiring Teacher of Science who will join us from September 2025, strengthening our already successful department even further. Our successful candidate will teach mainly across KS3 / 4 (with the ability to teach KS5), and will be passionate about their subject, committed to academic excellence and have the ability to motivate, support and enthuse students. You will join an established department with a friendly, dedicated team who achieve excellent results.

We can be receptive to teachers joining us at varying stages in their career; whether you are a recently qualified teacher or one who has many years teaching experience, we can ensure that you are developed within the department and wider academy.

We are looking for someone to join a strong team who supports each other to enable the students in science to achieve success. The department is forward thinking in terms of teaching and learning and curriculum design and is keen to ensure that the students not only gain knowledge and results but also gain cultural capital through workshops, trips, after school clubs and curriculum design.

Please note that interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis, therefore, early applications are encouraged to avoid disappointment.

This is a permanent opportunity with a salary of MPS/UPS + London Fringe Allowance, based on experience.
