What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone with excellent subject knowledge, who is able to respond positively and creatively to the expectations of the subject and has the ability to enthuse students.

Science is a very high performing department, achieving amongst the best results in the County. This success is a result of a keen focus on progress and developing a love of Science for all students. The successful candidate must have good organisation and communication skills and embrace school life.

An interest and/or ability to teacher Computing/Information Technology alongside Science would be considered.

Location and History

John Hanson Community School is a thriving, mixed gender 11-16 community school in South West Andover, Hampshire, with almost 1000 students. The school has a rich history, dating back to 1582, and was previously known as Andover Free School and Andover Grammar School. In 1974 the school was renamed John Hanson School in honour of its founder, and moved to the current site on Floral Way in 2001.
